Bruce Garrett is bringing Texas smashmouth football to Provo, announcing his commitment to BYU earlier this week via Twitter:

Garrett preps at Pleasant Grove High School (Texarkana, Texas), where as a junior he rushed for 2004 yards and 19 touchdowns and was named to the All-State team.  His team won the Class 4A, Division II state championship his sophomore season and were runners-up last year.

Garrett is rated 3-stars by 247Sports and ESPN. He holds scholarship offers from Illinois State and has seen recruiting interest from Arkansas, Baylor, and SMU.
