Tofa preps at West Jordan High School, where as a senior he recorded 56 tackles and three sacks and was named the outstanding defensive end for the Region. He’s strong and agile (skip ahead on his HUDL video below to the 37 second mark).
Tofa is rated 3-stars by Scout, Rivals, and ESPN (grade of 79). ESPN rated him the No. 5 prospect from Utah, while Scout rated him the No. 5 defensive end in the west. He held scholarship offers from Arizona, BYU, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Vanderbilt, and Washington State. He was also recruited by Arizona State and Washington. He plans to serve an LDS mission before suiting up for the Cougars.
