Davis prepped at DeSoto High School, where as a junior he had 33 receptions for 407 yards and five touchdowns. He was named to the Texas All-District 7 5A second-team offense. As a senior he had 29 catches for 286 yards and five touchdowns and also recovered a fumble on defense that he returned for a touchdown.
