Ethan Slade: DB #26, Class of 2019

Ethan Slade is a 6-foot-0 190-pound defensive back for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2019.

BYU summary: In his first season at BYU (2021), Slade had one tackle in two games (BYUcougars.com).

High School. Slade prepped at Orem High School (Orem, Utah), where in two seasons he had 221 tackles (110 solo), with 22 tackles for loss, two sacks, 46 passes defended, two forced fumbles, with three fumble recovered, and 14 interceptions for 360 yards. He had one rushing touchdown, one fumble recovered for a touchdown, three interceptions for touchdowns, one punt return for a touchdown, and one kickoff returned for a touchdown.  He knows how to get in the endzone (MaxPreps). Slade led the state in interceptions both years while helping Orem to back-to-back state titles.  He also played on the basketball team.

Recruitment. Slade was not rated by 247Sports but saw recruiting interest from Air Force, Navy, Southern Utah, Utah, and Utah State. Slade committed to BYU on February 4, 2019 as a preferred walk-on.
