I caught up with Tangilanu to ask him about his recruiting.
BYU Insider: Why did you choose BYU?
Tangilanu: Not only am I a member of the church, but when I went to BYU and met all the coaches and players I felt so amazed by the energy and vibe they gave.
BYU Insider: What other schools were showing you love in the recruiting process?
Tangilanu: Air Force really gave me a lot of attention which I appreciate so much. San Jose State and UC-Davis were showing me some love as well.

BYU Insider: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
Tangilanu: “Be humble throughout your life, especially through all the adversary and trials you face.”
BYU Insider: Who is a current player that you seek to emulate on the field?
Tangilanu: Maxx Crosby (DE, Las Vegas Raiders) is my favorite player in the NFL even though I’m a 49ers fan. He’s just so good. His style of play and physique fit me.
