Recruiting Profile: CB D’Angelo Gunter (Class of 2017)

BYU got verbal commitment number 21 this afternoon as D’Angelo Gunter picked BYU after a late push from Vanderbilt.  The speedy (4.53 forty)  6-foot-2 175 pound cornerback made the announcement over Twitter:

Gunter preps at Del Norte High School (San Diego, California), where as a junior he had 11 receptions for 91 yards and returned a kickoff for a touchdown.  As a senior he caught 23 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown.  On defense he had 44 tackles (24 solo), 10 pass deflections, and an interception.

Gunter is rated 3-stars by Rivals and Scout, and is not yet rated by ESPN. He holds scholarship offers from BYU, Hawaii, New Mexico, Southern Utah, Vanderbilt, Weber State, and Wyoming.  He was also recruited by Nevada, USC, Utah State, Washington, and Washington State.
