
Cole Clement joined his teammate Porter Small as the most recent commitments to the BYU football program (Class of 2022), announcing his commitment Sunday via Twitter:

Clement (@ColeClement8) is a 6-foot-4 210 pound athlete that preps at Springville High School (Springville, Utah), where as a senior he had 41 receptions for 760 yards (18.5 avg) and nine touchdowns, two rushes for 28 yards, 82 tackles (58 solo), three quarterback hurries, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, eight passes defended, and five interceptions with 49 return yards and one touchdown (MaxPreps). Springville was the 2021 5A runners up and Clement was named to the 5A all-state first-team.
As a junior Clement had 11 carries for 101 yards (9.2 avg) and two touchdowns, 20 receptions for 292 yards and four scores, 60 tackles (43 solo) with five tackles for loss, four passes defended, one fumble recovery, three QB hurries, 1.5 sacks, and one interception. He was a 5A all-state honorable mention as a tight end (DesNews). As a sophomore he had eight receptions for 171 yards and one touchdown, 40 tackles (22 solo) with two tackles for loss, three QB hurries, three passes defended, one forced fumble and three interceptions.
Clement runs a 4.68 forty, has a 33-inch vertical, and also stars on the Springville basketball team. He had a scholarship offer from Southern Utah and interest from Weber State. Clement will join the Cougs as a preferred walk-on.
