BYU sees big upside in Newest Commitment Juan Diego lineman Chinonso Opara (Class of 2018)

Chinonso Opara is a 6-foot-9 270 pound lineman made a verbal commitment this afternoon to play for the Cougars (Class of 2018).

Opara preps at Juan Diego High School, where he played defensive end and also played center for the basketball team.   He hails from Nigeria and is currently staying in Draper with a host family.

Opara is rated 2-stars by Rivals and is not yet rated by Scout or ESPN. He holds scholarship offers BYU and Utah and has seen recruiting interest from Nevada, Utah State, and Vanderbilt.
