Chaz Ah You is a 6-foot-2 222-pound defensive back and linebacker for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2017.

BYU summary: In four seasons at BYU (roster years 2017, 2019-2021), Ah You has played in 27 games (eight starts) and has totaled 81 tackles (49 solo), with seven tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one quarterback hurry, and five pass breakups (BYUcougars.com).

  • 2022 (Senior).
  • 2021 (Junior). Played in eight games (six starts) and totaled 39 tackles (18 solo) with one quarterback hurry, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one interception.
  • 2020 (COVID Junior). Played in one game before season ending injury and totaled two tackles (one solo)
  • 2019 (Sophomore). Played in 11 games (two starts) and totaled 31 tackles (24 solo) with 5.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one sack, and one interception
  • 2018 (Redshirt).
  • 2017 (Freshman). Played in seven games at outside linebacker and special teams and totaled nine tackles (six solo) and one tackle for loss

High School. Ah You prepped at Timpview and Westlake High Schools (Provo, Utah), where he played varsity for four years as a quarterback, safety, receiver, returner, and punter.  As a sophomore he rushed 133 times for 503 yards and seven touchdowns.  He also completed 90-of-185 passing attempts for 1020 yards and eight touchdowns to six interceptions. He lined up as a receiver his junior and senior seasons and had 63 receptions for 1024 yards and 10 touchdowns (MaxPreps). On defense he had 155 total tackles (90 solo), with five tackles for loss, three sacks, two quarterback hurries, five interceptions (with one returned for a touchdown), 11 passes defended, six forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Ah You was named to the All-State First-team and also lettered in basketball and track.

Recruitment. Ah You was rated 4-stars by 247Sports (0.9360), who rated him the no. 2 overall prospect from Utah in the Class of 2017.  He held scholarship offers from BYU, Cal, Duke, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Standford, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Washington, Washington State, and Wisconsin. Ah You committed to BYU on February 1, 2017.
