BYU lands fourth commit for Class of 2024 in speedy 3-star WR/DB Chance Harrison

Chance Harrison is the newest recruit to commit to play for BYU football (Class of 2024).  He announced his commitment yesterday, as reported on Twitter:

Harrison is a 6-foot-1 175 pound wide receiver and defensive back that preps at Rio Mesa High School (Oxnard, California), where as a sophomore he had 37 receptions for 560 yards and six touchdowns, returned eight kickoffs for 140 yards (17.5 avg), and had 28 tackles (23 solo), with three passes defended and three interceptions (MaxPreps).  He runs a reported 4.53 forty time, with an 11.1 in the 100-meter dash (HUDL).

As a freshman he had 12 tackles (10 solo) with four passes defended, one fumble recovery, and four interceptions.  He also caught 15 passes for 133 yards.

Harrison is rated 3-stars by 247Sports (84), who rate him the no. 91 overall prospect from the state of California for the Class of 2024. BYU was his first scholarship offer in April 2022 and he gave a verbal commitment to the Cougs on September 13, 2022.

Harrison is the fourth verbal commit for the BYU football Class of 2024, joining linebackers Easton Baker and Adney Reid and defensive lineman Dallin Johnson.
