Caden Haws: DL #95, Class of 2016

Caden Haws is a 6-foot-2 320-pound defensive lineman for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2016.

BYU summary: In three seasons at BYU (2019-21), Haws has played in 25 games and has 46 tackles (18 solo), with three tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one quarterback hurry, two pass breakups, and a sack (BYUcougars.com).

  • 2022 (Sophomore).
  • 2021 (Freshman). Started six of his 11 games, had 31 tackles (11 solo) with three tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one quarterback hurry, two pass break ups, and a sack.
  • 2020 (COVID Freshman). Played in all 12 games with one start, had 15 total tackles (7 solo).
  • 2019 (Redshirt). Played in two games.
  • 2016-18 (LDS mission) to St. George, Utah

High School. Haws prepped at Pulaski Academy (Little Rock, Arkansas), where he started all 40 games from 2013-15 (MaxPreps). He was a 2014 and 2015 state champion, team MVP, and named to the USA Today All-Arkansas team.  He also received the Willie Roaf Award for the best O-Lineman in the state.

Recruitment. Haws was rated 2-stars by 247Sports (0.7958), and ranked the no. 22 overall prospect from Arkansas in the Class of 2016.  He had scholarship offers from Air Force, Army, BYU, and Navy with recruiting interest from Arkansas, Auburn, Central Arkansas, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Utah, and Yale. Haws committed to BYU on January 24, 2016.
