Cade Fennegan: QB #11, Class of 2021

Cade Fennegan is a 6-foot-2 190-pound quarterback for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2021.

BYU summary: After an LDS mission to Argentina and a year as quarterback at Boise State, Fennegan is in his Freshman season at BYU (BYUcougars.com).

  • 2022 (Freshman).
  • 2021 (Redshirt). Member of scout team
  • 2020 (COVID Freshman, BSU). Played in three games and went 15-of-28 for 182 yards and two touchdowns to one interception, rushed nine times for 20 yards.
  • 2018-2019 (LDS Mission). Rosario, Argentina

Boise State. Played in three games and went 15-of-26 for 182 yards with two touchdowns and an interception against BYU.  Also rushed nine times for 20 yards.

High School. Fennegan prepped at Woodrow Wilson High School (Dallas, Texas), where in three seasons he went 469-for-754 passing for 6454 yards and 94 touchdowns.  He also had 145 carries for 796 yards and 18 touchdowns (MaxPreps). Fennegan was the winningest quarterback in school history and the District 11 Offensive sophomore of the year in 2015 and MVP in 2016. He had a reported 4.5 forty time (HUDL).

Recruitment. Fennegan was rated 2-stars by 247Sports, who rated him the no. 399 overall prospect from Texas in the Class of 2018. He held scholarship offers from Abilene Christian, Boise State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Southern Miss, Stephen F. Austin, and USC with recruiting interest from Arizona, ASU, Boston College, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Columbia, Duke, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, OSU, San Diego, SDSU, Stanford, Utah, Washington, and WSU.

Fennegan signed with Boise State on February 5, 2020 and played one season before entering the transfer portal (July 12, 2021) and committing to BYU on July 24, 2021.  He officially enrolled March 8, 2022.

Personal. Fennegan’s father Garth played defensive back for BYU (1990-1993).
