Bruce Mitchell: DL #96, Class of 2019

Bruce Mitchell is a 6-foot-4 295-pound defensive lineman for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2019.

BYU summary: Mitchell is new to the BYU football program after leaving on an LDS mission straight from high school (BYUcougars.com).

  • 2019-21 (LDS mission). Seattle, Washington

High School. Mitchell prepped at South Summit high school (Kamas, Utah), where he helped lead South Summit to back-to-back state championships (2017-18).  As a senior he totaled 76 tackles (25 solo), 13 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception returned 65 yards for a touchdown, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovered 30 yards for a touchdown (MaxPreps).

Recruitment. Mitchell was rated 3-stars by 247Sports (0.7978).  Mitchell signed with BYU on December 19, 2018
