Blake Mangelson: DL #93, Class of 2020

Blake Mangelson is a 6-foot-5 250-pound defensive lineman for Brigham Young University, recruited as part of the Class of 2020.

BYU summary: In one season at BYU (2021), Mangelson has five tackles, two tackles for loss, and a quarterback hurry (BYUcougars.com).

  • 2022 (Sophomore).
  • 2021 (Freshman). Played in seven games and recorded five tackles (three solo), two tackles for loss, and one quarterback hurry.

High School. Mangelson prepped at Juab High School (Nephi, Utah), where he recorded 159 tackles (72 solo), three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, 19 tackles for loss, and 22.5 sacks (MaxPreps).

Recruitment. Mangelson was not rated as a recruit (hard to get evaluators out to watch 3A games), and signed with BYU as a preferred walk-on February 5, 2020.
