BYU Basketball rounds out Class of 2019 with Wasatch Academy Big Man Bernardo Da Silva

Bernardo Da Silva–a 6-foot-9 210 pound forward from Mount Pleasant, Utah—announced today that he will be joining BYU hoops next year.

Da Silva preps at Wasatch Academy where he is coached by two BYU alumni—Marty Haws and Kevin Nixon.  This summer he averaged 14.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game for his AAU team—the Utah Mountain Stars.

Da Silva is rated 3-stars by ESPN, who also list him as the no. 4 prospect in the state of Utah for the Class of 2019. He holds scholarship offers from Cal State-Bakersfield, Cal State-Fullerton, Florida International, Grand Canyon, Southern, Southern Utah, and Utah State.  He has also seen recruiting interest from Boise State, Cal-Irvine, UC-Davis, and Oregon State.  Da Silva is the fourth commit in the Class of 2019, joining Shegzhe Li (C), Nate Hansen (SG), and Casey Brown (SG) as well as Cal transfer Trevin Knell (SG). He is expected to sign next month during the early signing period.
