I caught up with Muti to ask him about his recruiting.

BYU Insider: Why did you choose BYU?

Muti:  I have always been a fan of the program and BYU but what made me choose to go there is the atmosphere and the respect the players have for the coaches and each other. They have a brotherhood that I wanted to be a part of.  The BYU style of defense fits the way I play as an attacker or edge rusher it feels more natural for me. There’s no cab control–it will allow me to just go after the ball.

BYU Insider: What other schools were showing you love in the recruiting process?

Muti:  Weber state, Utah State, Boise state, Oregon State, and UH

BYU Insider: What are some of your favorites?

Muti:  I like comedies and action movies.  Lately the only book I like is the ACT study guide (lol). Favorite band Is J cole and a lot of island music from local artists. Favorite breakfast is spam, eggs, and rice.

BYU Insider: What is one of your greatest accomplishment in sports?

Muti:  I go to a high school that most colleges have never heard of and was told that I’m the first to receive a D1 four year college offer for football.

BYU Insider: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Muti:  NO GIRLFRIEND (until college, lol). From my parents.

BYU Insider: Who is a current player that you seek to emulate on the field?

Muti:  Actually, I love to watch and study a lot of old school football players like Reggie White, Lawrence Taylor, Von Miller
