davis_akile_por1Akile Davis is a 6’1” 186 pound wide receiver commit for the BYU football team (Class of 2015). He announced his commitment on August 4, 2014 via twitter. Davis is projected as #3/4 Z receiver for the 2015 season.

Davis prepped at DeSoto High School, where as a junior he had 33 receptions for 407 yards and five touchdowns. He was named to the Texas All-District 7 5A second-team offense. As a senior he had 29 catches for 286 yards and five touchdowns and also recovered a fumble on defense that he returned for a touchdown.

Davis was rated 2-stars by Rivals and 3-stars by Scout and ESPN (grade of 71). Davis held scholarship offers from Bowling Green, BYU, Indiana, Maryland, Middle Tennessee State, Nevada, North Texas, San Diego State, and Toledo. He was also recruited by Kansas, LSU, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas Tech. Davis is not LDS and is looking to play four in four.
