High School. Moa prepped at Weber High School (North Ogden, Utah), where as a senior he had 75 tackles (35 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, a forced fumble, and two interceptions while helping lead Weber to the 6A semifinals (MaxPreps). He had five offensive touchdowns (short carries and a reception) and one defensive touchdown (a pick six).
Recruitment. Moa was rated 4-stars by 247Sports (0.8978), who ranked him the no. 4 prospect from Utah in the Class of 2022. He is BYU’s highest rated commit in his class and the no. 19 highest rated recruit this century, just behind Kyle Van Noy and ahead of Fred Warner. Moa held scholarship offers from BYU, Colorado State, Oregon State, Utah, and Utah State. Originally committed to Utah, Moa decommitted and signed with BYU on December 15, 2021.
Personal. His father Ben was a tight end for the University of Utah, and his uncle Carlos Nuno played tight end for BYU (1997-1999).
